At least if you're Canadian, these are great

November 11 is Remembrance Day in Canada. Solemn ceremonies are held at cenotaphs across the country. At least up here, military uniforms are redolent of beautifully-cast brass buttons and other "adornments," for want of a better term that would make sense for whomever might read this.

These cufflinks will be a perfect thing to wear during the week on which Remembrance Day falls. Always a solemn day at our house - and we always leave an empty seat and place-setting at the dinner table that day, in thanks and in recognition of those who either did not come back from horrors few of us would even want to imagine, or who returned so fundamentally changed that a cozy family dinner on a raw November evening was something they couldn't attend afterward, even if they wished to do so. Bless them all.
